Description

Warm plum juices bubble through a soft, cinnamon-sprinkled crust as sweet and tart flavors mingle. Each spoonful offers tender fruit under a golden, buttery topping—perfect paired with vanilla ice cream for an indulgent finish.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups sliced plums
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, toss the sliced plums with ½ cup sugar and ½ teaspoon cinnamon until evenly coated.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Stir in the milk and melted butter until just combined to form a batter.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  6. Arrange the coated plums over the batter, distributing juices gently.
  7. In a small bowl, mix the 2 tablespoons sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon, then sprinkle over the top.
  8. Bake for 35–40 minutes until the cobbler is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.
  9. Let the cobbler rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use ripe but firm plums for the best texture.
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
  • Adjust the sugar amount based on plum sweetness.
  • Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
