Description

Juicy peach slices swim in sweet syrup under a golden cake mix blanket, then bake topped with melted butter and toasted pecans. Serve warm for a comforting treat that balances gooey fruit, crisp edges, and nutty crunch.

Ingredients

  • 2 can 15 ounce sliced peaches in syrup
  • 1 box 15.25 ounce yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Spread the peaches with their syrup evenly in the bottom of a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the peaches.
  4. Dust the ground cinnamon over the cake mix layer.
  5. Slice or cube the butter and distribute it evenly on top of the cake mix.
  6. Sprinkle the chopped pecans over the butter.
  7. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  8. Remove from oven and let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For best flavor use fresh peaches when in season and reduce syrup if desired.
  • You can substitute white cake mix or spice cake mix for a different taste.
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
  • Store any leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
