Description

Warm golden crostini crunch under creamy goat cheese, crowned with sticky maple bacon, drizzled honey, and fragrant thyme for a playful bite.

Ingredients

  • 12 slices baguette
  • 4 ounces goat cheese
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
  2. Fry baguette slices in batches for 1 to 2 minutes per side until golden and crisp, then transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
  3. Add bacon to the same skillet and cook until it begins to brown, then drizzle with maple syrup and cook for another minute until caramelized; remove and chop into bite-sized pieces.
  4. Spread goat cheese evenly over each warm crostini.
  5. Top each crostini with chopped maple bacon and drizzle with honey.
  6. Finish with a sprinkle of fresh thyme leaves before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor use herbed goat cheese instead of plain.
  • Ensure oil is hot enough to prevent sogginess in the crostini.
  • Bacon can be baked on a lined sheet pan at 400°F for 15 minutes as an alternative cooking method.
  • Serve immediately to maintain maximum crispness.
