Description

Soft, tender slices of golden bread reveal a gooey cinnamon ribbon in every bite, filling your kitchen with a sweet, spicy aroma. Perfect for toasting or enjoying fresh from the loaf.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted and cooled
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, 2 tablespoons sugar, baking powder, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine the milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the 1/2 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons cinnamon, and melted butter to create the cinnamon swirl.
  6. Spread half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle the cinnamon swirl mixture evenly on top.
  7. Dollop the remaining batter over the swirl and gently swirl with a knife to create a marbled effect.
  8. Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Always cool before slicing to prevent crumbling
  • For extra richness, substitute half the milk with buttermilk
  • Leftovers can be toasted and served with butter
  • You can add chopped nuts or raisins to the batter
