Description
Soft slices of bread cradle a luscious cinnamon-sugar cream cheese filling, crisped to golden perfection and finished with a sweet powdered sugar drizzle. Each bite bursts with warm spice and creamy goodness.
Ingredients
- 8 slices white sandwich bread
- 4 ounce cream cheese softened
- 2 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoon milk
Instructions
- Remove crusts from each bread slice and use a rolling pin to flatten them.
- In a small bowl, mix cream cheese with granulated sugar and ground cinnamon until smooth.
- Spread an even layer of the cinnamon cream cheese mixture onto each flattened bread slice.
- Tightly roll up each slice and set aside.
- In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until frothy.
- Heat butter in a nonstick skillet over medium heat until melted.
- Dip each roll-up in the egg mixture, ensuring all sides are coated, then place seam-side down in the skillet.
- Cook roll-ups for 2 to 3 minutes per side, turning until golden brown and cooked through.
- In a small bowl, whisk powdered sugar with milk until smooth and drizzle over the warm roll-ups.
Notes
- Use fresh bread slices for easier rolling and to avoid tearing.
- Serve immediately to keep the exterior crisp and the filling warm.
- For variation, replace the cream cheese filling with fruit jam or Nutella.
- Store leftover roll-ups and glaze separately to maintain texture.
