Description

Juicy cherry tomato halves, silky mozzarella, and aromatic basil leaves come alive with fruity olive oil and tangy balsamic glaze, creating a colorful salad that’s as fragrant as it is flavorful.

Ingredients

  • 200 grams cherry tomatoes
  • 200 grams fresh mozzarella
  • 10 grams fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Rinse and pat dry the cherry tomatoes, then slice each in half.
  2. Slice the fresh mozzarella into ½-centimeter thick rounds or tear into bite-sized pieces.
  3. Arrange the tomato halves and mozzarella pieces alternately on a serving platter.
  4. Scatter the fresh basil leaves over the tomatoes and mozzarella.
  5. Drizzle the extra virgin olive oil evenly over the salad.
  6. Follow with a light drizzle of balsamic glaze to taste.
  7. Season with salt and black pepper.
  8. Serve immediately at room temperature.

Notes

  • Use ripe, firm cherry tomatoes for optimal sweetness and texture
  • Allow the mozzarella to come to room temperature for better flavor absorption
  • Adjust the balsamic glaze amount according to your preferred sweetness
  • Serve the salad right away to keep the basil leaves vibrant and fresh
